2005 93rd BOMB GROUP REUNION
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA
November 10,11,12,13,14, 2005

Thirty-three 93rd veterans, joined by 70 family members gathered for a great reunion. The veterans, riding on a double-decker bus, were in the lead of the Veterans Day parade in Balboa Park, then attended the dedication of the B-24 Memorial in the park on the 11th. A reception and dinner on the 11th honored our "Most Honorable Son", Ben Kuroki and viewed a documentary about Ben's achievements in WWII, for which he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. The 13th featured a brunch cruise in San Diego harbor and banquet in the evening with a talk by Gen. (ret.) Robert Cardenas about his experiences as a test pilot. The hospitality room was crowded most of the time when other activities were not going on and there was a lot of good conversation and reminiscing.

Here are some photos of the reunion activities:

Awaiting the start of the Veterans Day Parade

The veterans rode on a double-decker bus just behind the color guard at the head of the parade

The parade was followed by the dedication of the B-24 Memorial in the Veterans Memorial Garden in Balboa Park.

A reception and banquet on Friday night honored Ben Kuroki.

The hospitality room was always busy when no other events were on.

Sunday we had a brunch harbor cruise. The Navy's newest carrier, the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) was tied up at North Island. It was a beautiful San Diego day.
